Meet Danielle J King, LPC

Owner and Therapist

Danielle King is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida International University and her master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Governors State University.

Danielle has over twelve years of clinical experience working with individuals, children, couples, and families. Her work experience includes outpatient, residential, crisis response, and community-based therapeutic services. Danielle specializes in areas of anxiety, depression, relationships, infidelity, systemic issues, trauma, LGBTQ+, life transitions, stress management, and women’s issues.

 She provides couples therapy to those experiencing relationship challenges through utilizing integrative and empirically supported treatments such as the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. She utilizes a variety of techniques and modalities in practice including, but not limited to, attachment-based therapy, strengths-based therapy, insight oriented, play therapy, and mindfulness techniques.  She nurtures a strength-based and collaborative treatment setting where cultural differences are honored and respected. Through such approaches, clients build resiliency and healthier coping skills through understanding how their experiences impact their ability to navigate relationships and life stressors. She believes that understanding one’s experiences facilitate the creation of secure, lasting bonds between in relationships and increases closeness, connection, and security.
